Flowers — they are often beautiful, have wonderful fragrances, and come in endless varieties… I think that humans can be similar:
There are cactuses that are prickly but bloom in most wonderful shapes and colours when taken care of properly.

There are all those kinds we know from visits and festivities: Roses, tulips, violets, poppies, carnations — and so many more.

But imagine all these kinds of flowers trying to ‘talk’ to each other… They might run into problems, for all of them are flowers — but they need different kinds of soil, different amounts of water and different amounts of light and warmth.

I think as humans we are similar: We know each other as another human being at once — but we have sometimes very different ideas and needs and experiences.

In many situations we tend to blame the other — which can be an easy way of dealing with differences… We feel like a carnation and expect everyone else to be a carnation as well — although we may be talking to a tulip.

In the long run to start realizing that variety makes life richer and more beautiful — and exciting — will help. Help to really start knowing ourselves as a beautiful… cactus, or tulip, perhaps. And start seeing the rose in others.
