When you start working for radio broadcasting and learn about script writing for radio the first lesson is this:

Words can make imagination’s cinema start playing. Use them wisely.

Imagination’s Cinema?

Words create images in the mind of any person who knows them — and hears or reads them.

Thus words you use should be colourful and refer to real life things, be that bread, a well, or water drops, eggs, or cake, dragons, or trees... This makes the images in their minds powerful and it eases on understanding!

This also makes it necessary to know well what the target audience is like that listens to your broadcasts.
